Jazzy 1450 Ultra Heavy Duty Power Wheelchair Specifications

The Jazzy 1450 is a very heavy-duty front-wheel drive power wheelchair designed for higher-capacity users who need a stable base and straightforward control. Pride lists a 600 lb weight capacity, speeds up to 4 mph, and a tested range of up to 15.7 miles per charge.

Why We Recommend Jazzy 1450

If you need maximum capacity in a standard-style power wheelchair platform, the Jazzy 1450 is built around a 600 lb rating and a front-wheel drive layout. Pride also lists Group 24 batteries and a very heavy-duty HCPCS classification, which aligns with users who require higher capacity and a durable base for daily mobility.

600 lb weight capacity Front-wheel drive drivetrain Up to 15.7 miles per charge Up to 4 mph top speed Solid drive wheels Group 2: Very Heavy Duty (K0826/K0827)

Very Heavy-Duty Capacity for Daily Mobility

  • Weight capacity: 600 lbs
  • HCPCS group: Group 2: Very Heavy Duty (K0826/K0827)
  • Additional HCPCS listing: Single Power Very Heavy Duty (K0839)

Pride lists this model under very heavy-duty HCPCS classifications. HCPCS codes do not guarantee coverage or reimbursement, which depends on payer rules and medical necessity requirements.

Front-Wheel Drive Handling

  • Drivetrain: front-wheel drive
  • Designed for stable tracking and predictable steering
  • Speed: up to 4 mph

Front-wheel drive places the drive wheels at the front of the chair, which can help with tracking and obstacle approach depending on surface conditions.

Range and Braking

  • Per-charge range: up to 15.7 miles
  • Braking system: regenerative and electro-mechanical
  • Range varies with user weight, terrain, and battery condition

Pride’s published range is a test-based specification. Actual range varies with load, terrain, battery age and condition, and driving habits.

Wheels and Tires

  • Drive wheels: solid
  • Designed to reduce maintenance related to flats

Solid drive wheels eliminate air pressure maintenance and reduce downtime from punctures.

Battery System

  • Battery requirements: 12 volt, Group 24
  • Designed for higher-capacity use and longer daily operation

The Jazzy 1450 uses Group 24 batteries as listed by Pride. Battery performance depends on charging habits, temperature, and overall battery condition.

Who This Scooter Is Best For

This power wheelchair is best for users who need a 600 lb capacity, want a durable base with solid drive wheels, and prefer a front-wheel drive layout for daily indoor and outdoor mobility.

What to Expect When It Arrives

Expect a very heavy-duty power wheelchair configured with Group 24 batteries. Charge the batteries fully before first use, and plan for a heavier overall system compared to standard-capacity power wheelchairs.

Shipping

Free shipping to the 48 contiguous United States. Full-size and heavy-duty scooters ship via LTL freight carrier; compact and folding models typically ship via FedEx or UPS. Most in-stock orders leave the warehouse within 2–5 business days, with delivery 5–10 business days after shipment. Additional charges apply for shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and remote or rural areas — we’ll contact you before processing if extra fees apply.

Freight Delivery

Freight carriers deliver curbside to your driveway or front entrance. The carrier will call you to schedule a delivery appointment window. Please make sure a standard freight truck can safely access your address; if it can’t, you may need to meet the driver at a nearby accessible location. An adult 18 or older must be present to sign for the shipment.

Inspecting Your Delivery

Inspect the packaging carefully before signing the delivery receipt. The driver is not required to wait while you unbox the scooter.

  • If the packaging looks clean and undamaged, sign and accept the delivery.
  • If you see any holes, dents, tears, or crushed corners, note the damage on the delivery receipt before signing, then accept the delivery and contact us.
  • If the packaging is severely damaged, refuse the shipment as “Damaged in Transit,” have the driver note it on the BOL, and call us immediately.

Concealed Damage

If your scooter is damaged but the packaging looked fine at delivery, contact us within 72 hours of arrival so we can file a carrier claim and get you a fast resolution. Claims filed after 72 hours cannot be honored by the freight carrier.

Returns

We want you to be fully satisfied with your scooter. If you need to return a non-defective unit, returns must be requested within 30 days of delivery and meet all of the following:

  • The scooter must be unused, in new/resalable condition, and in its original packaging with all manuals, chargers, keys, and accessories included.
  • You must request a Return Authorization (RA) number from us before shipping anything back. Returns without an RA will be refused.
  • A 20% restocking fee applies to all non-defective returns.
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend using a tracked, insured freight service — we can’t issue a refund on a scooter that’s lost or damaged in transit back to us.

Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll refund the purchase price minus the 20% restocking fee and any deductions for missing accessories or damage.

Damaged, Defective, or Wrong Items

If your scooter arrives damaged, defective, or we shipped the wrong item, that’s on us — contact us within 72 hours and we’ll cover replacement parts, a repair, or a prepaid return label at no cost to you. No restocking fee applies.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Used or operated scooters
  • Custom-configured orders (custom seating, upgraded tires, color changes, etc.)
  • Batteries sold separately from a scooter
  • Opened consumables and personal-use accessories

Order Cancellations

Orders can be canceled at no charge before they leave the warehouse. Once the scooter has shipped, our standard return policy applies.
